Air Fryer Homemade Fish Sticks
Makes: 4 | Prep: 15 min | Cook Time: 12 minutes
INGREDIENTS
1 pound cod, fresh or frozen (thawed), or tilapia, sliced into strips
¼ cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. salt
½ tsp. pepper
2 eggs, large
Splash of lemon juice
¾ cup panko breadcrumbs, plain
1 tbsp. old bay seasoning
These Homemade Fish Sticks are a healthier version of the boxed fish sticks your mom used to cook for you when you were a kid!
DIRECTIONS
Cut the cod into 16 equal sized sticks.
Pat dry with paper towels. In a medium sized bowl, whisk together whole wheat flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Set aside. In another bowl, whisk together eggs and lemon juice.
In an additional bowl, whisk together panko and old bay seasoning. Dunk each fish piece into the flour mixture, then the egg mixture, and lastly, the panko mixture. Make sure each piece of fish is getting fully coated at each step.
Heat air fryer to 400 degrees. Spray air fryer with cooking spray and place fish sticks in and bake for 10-12 minutes. Flip halfway through.
Serve with French fries and a vegetable. Enjoy!
