Veggie & Meat Sauce
Servings: 4 | Prep: 10 min | Cook Time: 20 min
INGREDIENTS
1 lb. ground turkey or beef
1 can of diced tomatoes, drained
1 large carrot, diced
1 large zucchini, diced
1 small white onion, diced
2-3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp. olive oil
1 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. salt
1 24 oz. jar of marinara sauce
Fresh basil
Parmesan cheese (optional)
This Veggie & Meat Sauce is a great way to sneak more veggies into your dinner meal.
DIRECTIONS
Heat a large pan. Add ground turkey to the pan and cook until brown and cooked through. Set aside.
In that same add olive oil and then add the tomatoes, onion, zucchini and carrots. Add spices. Sauté until tender.
Add the cooked ground turkey to the veggies along with the jar of marinara. I add about 1/2 cup of water to the sauce jar and shake to get the remaining sauce out. Simmer for 5-10 minutes.
Serve over cooked pasta. Top with fresh basil and Parmesan cheese.
