Pizza Stuffed Chicken

Makes: 4 | Prep: 10 min | Cook Time: 23 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 chicken breasts, boneless skinless

  • 1 cup pizza sauce

  • 36 turkey pepperoni slices

  • 6 oz. mozzarella cheese, 1 oz. slices

  • 8 basil leaves, fresh

  • salt and pepper, for taste

If you’re craving pizza, this Pizza Stuffed Chicken recipe will do the trick nicely! Chicken packed with sauce, cheese, pepperoni and fresh basil. So good!

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat air fryer to 400℉.

  2. Using a small sharp knife, cut pockets/slits in the side of each chicken breasts, ¾ of the way in. Season the outside of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.

  3. Stuff each chicken breast with a little less than ¼ cup of pizza sauce (you’ll want to save a tiny bit to coat the top), 6 slices of pepperoni, 1 slice of mozzarella and two basil leaves. You can use toothpicks to secure it if desired.

  4. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the stuffed chicken breasts in the air fryer basket. Cook for 17 to 20 minutes (or internal temp 165 degrees).

  5. Coat the top of the chicken with the remaining pizza sauce, add 1/2 slice of cheese and 3 pepperoni to the top. Air fry for an additional 3 minutes or until cheese has melted.

  6. Remove from air fryer and serve with side salad (or desired veggie). Enjoy!
