Beef Brisket Street Tacos

Makes: 4 | Prep: 10 min | Cook Time: 10 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pound beef brisket cooked, (to make life easier I used 1 package of Just Meats Beef brisket)

  • 12 flour tortillas small

  • 1 cup queso fresco grated, or cotija cheese

  • ¼ cup pickled onion

  • 1 avocado, sliced

  • ¼ cup cilantro, chopped

  • jalapenos sliced, optional

    Pickled Onions

    • 1 purple onion, medium

    • ⅔ cup white vinegar

    • ⅔ cup water

    • 1.5 tbsp sugar

    • ½ tbsp salt

    • ¼ tbsp red pepper flakes

 

These Beef Brisket Street Tacos are simple yet so flavorful! Perfect weeknight meal. Great with spicy margaritas!

 
  • Feel free to use this recipe and just swap out protein for protein.

    Carna asada, pulled pork, pot roast, shrimp, shredded chicken are all other great protein options! 

DIRECTIONS

Tacos

  1. The just meats brisket heats up in 2 minutes with the seasoning sauce. If cooking your own meat, have that prepared and set aside.

  2. Spray a flat pan with cooking spray and place 2-3 small tortillas on its (depending on how many can flat without overlapping) and heat on both side until lightly toasted.

  3. Remove the tortillas from the pan and assemble the tacos. Tortilla, meat, cheese, avocado, cilantro and pickled onions (and jalapeños, if using). Each serving is 3 small tacos. Enjoy!

Pickled Onions

  1. In a saucepan, heat the water on the stove, until just simmering. Not boiling.

  2. Slice the onions into rings or half-moons. Add to a mason jar.

  3. Add the vinegar, sugar, salt and red pepper flakes to the hot water. Still until the sugar is dissolved. Add that mixture to the mason jar with the onions.

  4. Give it a good stir. Cover. Place in refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
