Buffalo Dietitian

Hi there! My name is Rachel, I’m a Registered Dietitian and fitness addict. I love everything and anything about nutrition, fitness, and health. I’m originally from Buffalo, NY and graduated from D’Youville College with a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Dietetics. Along with being a Registered Dietitian and Certified Dietitian Nutritionist in the State of New York, I hold a Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management with the commission on Dietetic Registration. I was fortunate enough to gain clinical experience in an acute care setting while living in Florida while working at the Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center in Davenport Florida. Since 2012 I’ve been working as a clinical dietitian at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. Specializing in Leukemia, Transplant and Cellular Therapy and Pediatrics.

The Start of Buffalo Dietitian

In 2015 I started blogging. I started sharing healthy recipes, healthy favorites, my own fitness journey, health tips, motivation and more! In 2017 I decided to officially start Buffalo Dietitian! From the start my main goal with Buffalo Dietitian was to help others make healthier lifestyle changes and live their best life!

Fun facts about me

I’m generally pretty busy! I work full time at RPCCC so in my free time I am always trying to produce more content for Buffalo Dietitian along with meeting with clients. I love to cook and share my recipes with you guys! I have a Rhodesian Ridgeback named Daisy, I’m a mama to Theodore, married to my best friend, coffee and peanut butter addict and love to travel.

Fitness

I’ve always been into fitness. Nutrition related to fitness was actually was one of the reasons I became a Registered Dietitian. Swimming and running in high school and rowing in college. In 2009 I completed my first full marathon. Since then I’ve completed a total of four full marathons, seventeen half marathons, three Olympic triathlons, two half Ironmans and one full Ironman. Plus, endless amounts of running events. In addition to endurance events I enjoy weightlifting and yoga. As a runner and triathlete, I recognize the importance and the link between a healthy diet and an active lifestyle.
